  1. gpsign: pad ift for onenand flash memories with 4k page size

    Ivaylo Dimitrov authored
    According to OMAP3 TRM:

Page size is assumed to be 2048 bytes, divided into four sectors of 512
bytes. In case of OneNAND/Flex-OneNAND, with pages of 4096 bytes, divided
into eight sectors, users must program only the first sectors (sectors 0,
    1, 2, 3) of each page. Sectors 4, 5, 6, and 7 of each page are not
    considered by the driver.

Add a parameter to allow gpsign to implement the above mentioned
    requirement

pusb: cannot support GET_ASICID on OMAP3

    pali authored committed
    commit d086cb5
(pusb: add support for omap 4430)

introduced support for using GET_ASICID, however,
3430 has no clue about what GET_ASICID is. So, be smart
and send command only if length is not what we expect
it to be. This should continue to support both OMAP3 and 4.

[nm@ti.com: modified original patch - the original patch is available:
    https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/beagleboard/bj8qRG82ssY
However, the fix need not need have option provided from commandline
OMAP3 ROMCode is just NOT smart enough to figure out about GET_ASICID-
you either get the data OR not.]

pusb: add support for omap 4430

    virtuoso authored committed
Firstly, 4430's ASIC ID is 81 bytes long, so add a command line
option for that. Secondly, the one that I have in my pandaboard
won't tell it's ASIC ID till explicitly asked to do so, so add
    a workaround for that.

  1. tagger: a tag header generation utility

    authored
Arm linux kernel has a bunch of boot requirements that are listed:
    http://www.arm.linux.org.uk/developer/booting.php

tagger is an utility used to generate this tag along with a small
sty - an assembly util which gets control when system starts off
the sty puts the data in required locations and gives control
to the kernel's piggy allowing for the system to bootup

when used in conjunction with gpsign, this could replace the
    traditional bootloader in some cases.

    Benefit ranges from:
    * quick boot of the kernel
    * removing dependency of kernel on a specific bootloader (e.g. mux etc..)

    Example usage:
    in the kernel: make bzImage

    ./tagger -c configs/sample-3630.cfg -f zImage
    ./gpsign -c configs/sample-3630.cfg -f zImage.tag

tagger generates an output file .tag which can be used along with
u-boot "go" command or equivalents such as csst or other flashing
utilities designed to execute images from SDRAM

gpsign adds a configuration header and generates a .ift which
is a flashable image which is downloaded to a I/O image at 0
e.g. NAND flash (remember this should be written with hw ecc to NAND)

  1. @amituttam

Fixed bug where binaries will not run on PowerPC.

    amituttam authored committed
The main issue was with the way getopt from libc6 is used. It seems like
the way glib resets getopt is different. More information about this
    issue can be found in

    http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=192834

Looking at the example provided in Message#53, the return for getopt is
an int. Changing from char to int in the files fixes the issue.
