I want to catch event when reverseProxy is on timeout

maybe ...
in http-proxy.js

reverseProxy.once('socket', function (socket) {
  if (self.timeout) {
    socket.setTimeout(self.timeout, function(){
      self.emit('timeout', req, res)
    });
  }
});

+1 this would be super nice. Just automatically sending a 504 on timeout would be great.

This would be really nice, but you'd have to work out who is responsible for calling res.end() somehow.
