Hi there. Please excuse my n00b status but I was wondering how I might be able to proxy a service at the end of a remote domain name to somewhere in my localhost domain. When I use the usual method of proxying, the host doesn't know what I'm talking about because I think the hostname "localhost" is being passed as the hostname to the target server as opposed to the domain name I defined.

var options = {
  router: {
    'localhost': 'dev.farmhack.gotpantheon.com',
  }
};
httpProxy.createServer(options).listen(80);

If this dev server had a dedicated IP address I bet it would work but that's not the case as it shares an IP address with other servers. I looked at the Forward Proxy example which involves a remote domain name but I don't quite get why there are three services involved to connect two.

if you only need to proxy that particular domain you can alias it in /etc/hosts, without using http-proxy!
