Really nice for development purposes would be the feature to use self signed certificates for proxied urls. Assume you develop a Java/.Net/PHP/Python app on backend and a Front End client running on node.js proxying requests to back-end. Backend uses self-signed certificates in development. So to be able proxy from http to https with self-signed cert we could use:

    var proxy = httpProxy.createProxyServer({secure:!options.selfSigned});
