What steps will reproduce the bug?

that row where is source of node and where you enter "node file name" just freeze, i dont know explain differently, better

How often does it reproduce? Is there a required condition?

no required condition, it happens randomly

What is the expected behavior?

expected behavior is that i could after modifying code type "node-file name" and it should display or output what i coded

What do you see instead?

instead i see just cursor freezed

You'll need to provide a minimal code example that reproduces the behavior. Judging by the screenshot you've provided, there is code preceding what is currently visible that is most likely the cause of the "freezing".

I don't know what you mean,I provided code that caused the problem this time,do you think that code is causing a problem?
I asked same question on stack overflow and fcc forum and nobody answering, i would be gratefull if you can help me with this

Hi @filipascic. Thanks for creating this issue. You just show a part of the code. So we cannot help you. Please include Minimal, Reproducible Example. If a single file is not enough to reproduce your problem, you could publish the all repo to GitHub and then we could pull from the repo via git clone.

I understand what is asked, to ensure code that making a problem but...it happens randomly, no matter what code is there,
freezeeng doesnt depend of code written, I printscreened and posted picture to show that cursor is not moving,.When that happens it just stays there, maybe this error above making confusion, but I didnt asked because of that, that i menage ignore what is above cursor,, but I asked because that cursor...it just stays freezed and I can't enter new "node-file name" and display it, sorry if I am avoiding regular issue problem report next time it happens I will enlarge VSC window and prtscr all code, but i think it is not up to code

@filipascic I understand your concern. The biggest problem is that we could not reproduce this problem, because it happens randomly. This type of problem is indeed hard to push forward.

May I suggest closing this issue because We could not reproduce it so we could not make further progress? I will still be happy to help If you could reproduce this problem stably.

@filipascic Yep. I don't think the picture is a good way to provide a reproducible sample. You'd better provide a code block or a whole github repo.

Suppose you can reproduce this problem with only one small code block, then the reproduce step will like:
Step 1: make a file named test.js that has the following content:

$ cat test.js
const { spawn } = require('child_process');

const child = spawn('echo hello', ['2>&1'], { shell: true });

let mergedOut = '';

child.stdout.on('data', (chunk) => {
  process.stdout.write(chunk);
  mergedOut += chunk;
});

Step 2: run test.js repeatedly until the freeze problem happened, in my computer, about after 1~10 runs, the freeze problem will happen.

$ node test.js

If one small code block cannot reproduce this problem and you need multiple files, or you need some npm dependency, then making a Github repo will be better, the reproduction step will like this:
Step 1: clone my reproduction repo:

$ git clone https://github.com/filipascic/repro

Step 2: install the dependency

$ npm install

Step 3: run the entry file repeatedly until the freeze problem happened, in my computer, about after 1~10 runs, the freeze problem will happen.

$ node ./src/index.js

You would better include your node version and system info, envinfo is a great tool to do that(https://github.com/tabrindle/envinfo):

Other tips

• Keep reproduction cost lower, then the more possibility will people help you.
• Prefer text over picture to show what the code is like, picture could not copy and paste.
• If could reproduce the problem on Terminal, then don't tell me that I should open VSCode and use VSCode embed terminal to reproduce the problem. keep the reproduction cost lower.
• You could also search "how to write a good bug report" or "minimal reproducible example" on google for more info.

tried 32 times to run your code and didn't freezed, you said then that I need npm dependencies but I dont know how to do that, google says;
-load the existing node_modules tree from disk.
-clone the tree.
-fetch the package.json and assorted metadata and add it to the clone.
-walk the clone and add any missing dependencies.
-dependencies will be added as close to the top as is possible.

I never used github before when i got problem i try on the fcc forum, or stack overflow, i know what is repo now and i would make it but dont know how to trigger bug, i tried with your code lot of times nothing happens, you said that than i need multiple files or npm dependencies but i dont know how to instal that npm dependencies it is too complicated for me to understand, how to run multiple files at once maybe is that easier than depenedencies

I think I must make you misunderstand my meaning. My code is just for showcase how to report the problem next time you can reproduce your problem. It does not say that run my code repeatedly will definitely freeze.

sorry I am confuzed with some words and way things doing here, it is strict abouth some stuff i am not familiar with, look I have another technical problem with visual studio code, i asked on stack overflow nobody answer, can I ask here on gitHub? I can practice anything because of it it is really important for me to solve that.
and how is it possible that no one knows why is that freezeng happening nobody asked that question before and no one answering this mine
