Add ~ as process.ENV.HOME #36

paths fail when using ~/foo etc

That seems like it would require running many posix operations through shell expansions. From my limited understanding of the philosophys behind node.js running every posix open call through shell expansion doesn't seem like a good default.

well no you can just substitute the string with process.ENV.HOME
it would just look a lot better than
process.ENV.HOME + '/whatever'
