Welcome to the Nao Cadet wiki!

What is NAO Cadet?

NAO Cadet is a block-based coding platform, similar to Scratch, that allows children to easily program an NAO robot. Once installed onto an NAO, the program is fully encapsulated within that NAO and no other software is needed (well except for a web browser). Just make sure that the device you use, and yes you can use a computer or tablet, is on the same network as the NAO.

Who made NAO Cadet?

This program was originally developed by James Collins within the Inclusive Communities team under the State Library of Queensland. The project is open source and under the GNU GPL v3 license. We welcome contributors to the project and would love to see it grow in the wild.

Where can I get help?

We have set up multiple channels for support:

  • This wiki has a ton of information for users and developers and we try hard to keep it as up-to-date as possible.

  • Email. As a last resort, you can email me for support and advice. However, it is preferred if you use the Slack or Reddit channels so everyone can contribute and view previously asked questions.

❗️ Issue Tracker: please do not post questions to the issue tracker. The Issue tracker is reserved for reporting bugs and feature requests.

You can’t perform that action at this time.
