I can confirm this is still present.

Frohwalt Egerer Possible fix for #66 (Unit test for testEncodingUTF8 failing on Mac) 6ba9ebd

I can't reproduce this anymore with my JDK, but tried to implement a fix by guessing what OSX + JDK 1.6u30 might create for a (valid) unicode sequence. Please report if it still fails.
