using alpha-2 from npmjs.org/dist, fail to install dependences for express #41

After doing a global instal of express via npm and creating an express project, when trying to install dependencies for the project via 'npm install -d' in the project directory, I get the following error. I am using npm-1.1.0-alpha-2 from npmjs.org/dist.
