I'm reporting this here because of the hint in the error output. Is this something I should be reporting to the Derby project instead though?

Node.JS with NPM installed on Windows 7 64 bit. I think this is the relevant bit.

npm ERR! git clone git://github.com/Marak/colors.js.git CreateProcessW: The syst

Below is the full NPM console output.

@dilocalzone

I’m experiencing same issue and have installed same nodejs version and Win 7 64 bits as well. I've tried to install Derby previously using NodeJS v0.8.0 and got same issue. I've just reported about this to the Derby project, please refer to: derbyjs/derby#104. Thanks!

Do you have git installed on your system? It looks like something in there depends on a git:// url.

@sfeldkamp

That was exactly the problem. Sorry, I should have come and updated this ticket. Documented here on the Derbyjs google group: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/derbyjs/OvtNQZaIHa0.

I looked through the NPM documentation and didn't see that having git was a requirement, so once I figured that out it was smooth sailing.
