I am on Ubuntu - 12.04. Latest version of Node too. Everything was working fine until today as every npm instruction throws up Illegal instruction(Core dumped) error. Re-installing might fix the issue but it might crop up again. Any fixes yet?

Solved by re-installing node. Is it recurring for anyone else? Any ideas why it is being caused and what should be done to prevent it from cropping up again?

I'm having this issue on an alxd800 CPU (i586). Node seems to work but npm is throwing "Illegal instruction"

I didn't tried to compile from scratch but I've tried downloading both 8.28 and 10.30 node. Thanks for any help.

I've tried installing with the sh script but I'm getting this error:

root@foxbox:~/installers# curl -L https://npmjs.org/install.sh | sh
