CPU usage

Hello, I just tried this program after reading about it on HN. On my laptop it is consistently using all my CPU, even while it's not playing any song. I'm on Fedora on a MacBook with an i5-4278U CPU @ 2.60GHz.
Is it expected? Is there something that I can try to do to avoid this? The fans go like crazy and my battery just dies.

Also, when starting a song, it randomly freezes by showing the app logo and nothing else.
