Rename "virtual buffer" to "browse mode" as far as the user is concerned

The term "virtual buffer" is fairly meaningless to the average user. We should rename this to "browse mode" in the user interface and in documentation, as this is somewhat more meaningful.

Note that we will not rename this internally in the code, as the user concept of browse mode is still implemented using a virtual buffer under the hood.
