When using document mode to explore a web page and a widget is encountered, it might be preferable to automatically switch to a mode that allows interaction with the widget.
I spoke with James last night about this but I couldn't find a ticket I could track. Please feel free to close if this is a duplicate.

David, switching to focus mode when an ARIA widget is encountered is not desirable if the user is browsing the page with the cursor keys. Otherwise, the flow of reading would be interrupted and the user would constantly have to exit focus mode. However, the idea proposed in #157 is to have it switch to focus mode if the user tabs to a widget or a sighted user clicks on a widget. This way, the intention to use a widget is more obvious, as opposed to the intention to browse the page. Does this make sense?
If this is acceptable to you, then this ticket can be closed as a duplicate of #157. If not, we need to come up with another idea.
