Often when multiple sounds are triggered while NVDA is speaking using ESpeak the master audio seems to drop by about half and then after a few seconds or longer returns to normal. This can be seen when moving through tweets in Chicken Nugget and the photo sound plays while NVDA is speaking. Using Windows 10 stable.

Does espeak duck, or does NVDA duck nugget? also, are you sure audio
ducking is not on in a configuration profile?

It sounds like both are being reduced in volume when it happens. There is
only the primary configuration profile on that system.

Can you try playing audio with perhaps some kind of music player, switch NVDA's speechMode to off, and cause Chicken Nugget to play the photo sound. Does the music drop in audio? If so then it has nothing to do with NVDA. It sounds perhaps like your soundcard settings are set to compress audio once it reaches a certain level. Also, audioDucking would never duck audio from NVDA itself.

Thank you. I agree it is more likely to be an issue with the audio drivers
Lenovo is using. This issue can be closed.
