I used brew to install git-flow, and would like to keep with that, however..
Last tag (0.4.1) has been created 2 years ago, and it is very likely that users like me
are using very outdated version.

Just tagging one of recent revisions would be helpful.

+1 on that. Especially the feature to squash commits when finishing features is something I'd like to have!

Exactly - squashing commits is the reason I created my private homebrew formula for!

Squashing commits is implemented in my fork git-flow (AVH Edition), which is also available in homebrew as git-flow-avh.

Checkout the changelog for more information about bugfixes and new features implemented in my fork.

+1 to get new version for MacPorts and some Linux distributions (ubuntu, as debian already moved to to Peter van der Does' version).

Ubuntu apparently also uses my fork, just way behind, using version 1.6 and not 1.8 yet.
