Original bug ID: 4013
Reporter: Hendrik Tews
Status: closed (set by @damiendoligez on 2013-07-29T11:39:37Z)
Resolution: fixed
Priority: high
Severity: tweak
Version: 3.09.2
Target version: 4.01.0+dev
Fixed in version: 4.01.0+dev
Category: ~DO NOT USE (was: OCaml general)
Monitored by: @hcarty

Bug description

In bigger mixed C/Ocaml projects the identifiers in compatibility.h get in the way. For instance

#define flush caml_flush /SP/

will very likely cause trouble.

I suggest to document CAML_NAME_SPACE in Chapter 18 "Interfacing C .."

Further, I believe compatibility.h should be disabled per default.

Disabling it by default: no way. How many programs would that break?

Documenting it: now that's a good idea.
