Original bug ID: 4647
Reporter: warren
Assigned to: @xavierleroy
Status: closed (set by @xavierleroy on 2011-05-29T10:20:18Z)
Resolution: fixed
Priority: normal
Severity: feature
Version: 3.11.0+beta
Fixed in version: 3.11.2+dev
Category: ~DO NOT USE (was: OCaml general)

Bug description

Buffer should provide a blit operation, similar to String.blit, that allows the buffer's internal contents to be copied to another string without requiring an intermediate string to be allocated (as is done by Buffer.sub and Buffer.contents). Doing this can reduce GC churn, and lead to better performing applications.
