Installing PHP8.1 on PiZero causes Kernel Panic

Trying to install PHP8.1 on a PiZero. RPiOS - fresh 32bit Lite package. It works fine on the same image on a Pi4

It seems the installation of libpcre2-8-0 is causing the Install to fail and the Pi become unresponsive. A reboot ends with a kernel panic.

Before I raise as a bug, am I doing anything wrong?

You can compile the packages yourself, but due to the unfortunate decision by the RPi folks to make armhf in Raspbian something else than armhf in Debian, there’s nothing I can do while packaging for Debian.
