model: implement a system model

OK Log is reasonably well described as a system of queues. I’d really like to model the system, in the style of Adrian Cockcroft’s microservice response time distribution analysis. I've started sketching out some ideas in MODEL.md but I have no idea what I'm doing help I need an adult
