There will be a release-branch.v5. I didn't test ES 5 alpha yet, but it could be that v3 "just works" (tm). I see v5 more as a chance to do breakin…

You can use the ES_URL environment variable to specify an arbitray ES endpoint.

Can you try the following instead? sorter := elastic.NewGeoDistanceSort("location") sorter = sorter.Point(qLat, qLon) sorter = sorter.Asc() or so…

No. Elastic will connect to any node it has received in the last sniffing/healthcheck process in a round-robin fashion.
