global.js and sharepoint oddity

Integrating Metro-UI-CSS into a SharePoint 2010 site and having an issue with getting some widgets to work properly without affecting some SharePoint components. Specifically, prototype.shuffle, prototype.clone and prototype.unique functions within metro.js below the "// Source: js/global.js" section have to be commented out in order to get the list SharePoint list item edit function to work.
