@etraut-openai Thanks for the quick response.

I’m not sure whether I have any experimental features enabled — I didn’t explicitly turn them on. The error occurred while Codex was handling a normal task (not a special or edge-case prompt).

Could you help me understand:

1. How can I check whether any experimental features are currently enabled? (e.g., config file, environment variables, or CLI flags)
2. If they are disabled by default, does this error suggest something else might be causing the empty name field?

For context: the error appears during some conversations, not all. I can share more logs if needed.

I checked my config and there are no experimental features enabled. All related flags are either absent or set to false. The error still occurs. What else could cause the empty name field?
