The openblack team is proud to announce the initial release of version of our game engine!

This project has been around for 5 years so now is as good a time as any to make an initial release!

Known Issues

  • The colour is off for the sky, water and various other meshes which could be due to missing fog, lighting or different gamma.
  • We do not have installers for Windows or dmg for Mac and our experimental releases aren't signed.
  • WebGPU is unsupported at this time by our rendering backend.
  • We do not yet have a launcher or global configuration options so launching the engine requires a command line parameter to find game assets. The game assets must come from a legitimate source which we do not distribute.
