This pull request contains a backport of commit 46f48e4e from the openjdk/jdk repository.

The commit being backported was authored by Ioi Lam on 28 Jan 2025 and was reviewed by Andrew Dinn and Vladimir Kozlov.

(After this PR is integrated into 24, I will create another backport PR for JDK-8348890 that fixes some issue in this current PR).
