community page enhancements

I'm thinking about how we need to begin to facilitate participation and also convey info about the OMF. These are important as the OMF becomes active. It would also be good to get as much of the easiest parts of this done as soon as possible to support the PNAS paper we'll start drafting now.

1. Below the heading "Member Organizations and Representatives" and above the list of member organizations, we need:

• A short descriptor, like "Representatives of member organizations make up the Members Council, the primary governing body of the Open Modeling Foundation, responsible for approving policies, procedures, and standards."
• "How to become a member", linked to https://openmodelingfoundation.github.io/governance/charter/#joining-and-leaving-the-members-council
• "More information about membership in the Open Modeling Foundation", linked to https://openmodelingfoundation.github.io/governance/charter/#members-council
• The size of the list of members that Kelly is doing perhaps means that this should be a separate page, linked to the overview community page. What do you think?

2. Below the Executive Committee heading:

• A short descriptor like, "The Executive Committee ensures that the activities of the Open Modeling Foundation further its vision, mission, and goals as expressed in the charter and values statement."
• A "More information about the Executive Committee:, linked to https://openmodelingfoundation.github.io/governance/charter/#executive-committee
• There should probably also be a separate page for the Executive Committee.

4. Currently, the 3 working group headings are hot linked to empty discussion groups. While an explicit link to discussion groups may be a good idea once there is discussion, it currently looks like these head to dead links. If they are hot linked anywhere, they should probably link to the relevant sections on the working groups page:

• https://openmodelingfoundation.github.io/governance/working-groups/#standards-working-group
• https://openmodelingfoundation.github.io/governance/working-groups/#certification-working-group
• https://openmodelingfoundation.github.io/governance/working-groups/#education-and-outreach-working-group
• https://openmodelingfoundation.github.io/governance/working-groups/#cyberinfrastructure-working-group
• We can list the chairs and do 'how to join' links on with each group info sections. (Note that the full text of 'how to join and leave' is an amendment that needs approval by the EC and maybe MC. I've drafted these already)
• Rename heading to just "Working Groups"

5. Affiliated Students heading:

• Short descriptor, like: "The Affiliated Early Career Scholars helps the Open Modeling Foundation to support student and early career development."
• Rename "Affiliated Students" to "Affiliated Early Career Scholars"
• Add more info and how to join links (Note that the full text of 'how to join and leave' is an amendment that needs approval by the EC and maybe MC. I've drafted these already)

6. Add a new heading for Open Modeling Foundation Affiliates

• Short descriptor, like: "Membership in the Open Modeling Foundation Affiliates offers a formal way for individuals, not represented by a member organization, to receive regular information about OMF activities and communicate with different components of the OMF."
• Add more info and how to join links (Note that the full text of 'how to join and leave' is an amendment that needs approval by the EC and maybe MC. I've drafted these already)

7. While we will want to create online forms for joining, we can start with a link to the support email, followed by links to simple Google Forms.

Hi Michael, I'm working on a draft of these page enhancements today, but am wondering if you could give a bit more info about what you'd like on an Executive Committee page? I could make a bare bones landing page for now, and just say that it is under construction or that the elections are XX date, etc.

Similarly, is there any other info specifically you would like for me to include in the Affiliated Early Career Scholars section besides the short descriptor and an eventual link to the "How to Join" page that needs approval by the EC and MC?

One final question: what is the support email that I should include on the "How to Join" bit of the members list?

We should have some things to add by Monday. Elections closed on Friday

Just descriptor, more info, and how to join. Same for Affiliates
