It would be nice to have a timeline that lists notable milestones in the history and growth of OSD. I'd see this existing on the /about page or such and containing items like:

  • 馃暀 One thousandth designer added to organization, June 2017... hope 馃槃
  • 馃嚫馃嚞 Presented at FOSSASIA, Mar 2016
  • 鈽笍 Code of Conduct published, Jun 2015
  • 馃帀 Website is collaboratively created and launched, Apr, 2015
  • 馃棧锔 Open Source Design dev room at FOSDEM, Jan 2015
  • 馃棧锔 Conference talks on open source design and sharing resources, Dec 2013

Getting the type of information and tone right will be crucial- just how broad vs. idiosyncratic do we want to be? My thinking is the following:

  • Mention notable and big things that shift or change the community
  • Highlights efforts at collaboration and growing "community" more so than individuals
  • Give credit where credit is due if someone makes a significant and large contribution

I think the answers to the OpenCollective interview questions could provide useful milestone events also.

That's a great idea @ei8fdb and a great collection of our milestones- exactly the sort of thing I was hoping for. I just added my earliest recollection of OSD 馃槃

Nice, yeah. I don't know exactly what the opencollective crew plans, but like I said in a comment there I think we should definitely copy those q&a across to our repos.

This is cool but I think this now needs to be considered as an article?
