Let's make an Open Source Design Job Board #10
Comments
We need to collect some starter projects to seed the board with. If you know of a f/oss project that could use some design please post it here. Even better is if you could post some sort of contact person for the project, even if it is a github or twitter username. |
I think we could use some design direction on https://github.com/daleharvey/goodfirstpatch (a project whose goals actually overlap with this a bit, so lmk if you see opportunities to help each other out). Thanks, this is awesome! |
Second that :) Also PouchDB (http://pouchdb.com/) + (https://github.com/daleharvey/pouchdb) could really do with some design work, my wannabee design attempts arent working. (dale@arandomurl.com if anyone wants to contact me about it) |
MuseScore ( http://musescore.org ) can use design help, especially since the next major release (v2.0) is coming closer. Design work includes artwork for the splash screen, promo artwork for the 2.0 release, etc. Reach out to me via thomas at musescore dot org. |
We need lots of design help! I know it is a travesty in design and usability. But we have nice APIs to play with (http://opencontext.org/about/services) and it'll be great to improve what we do. (On Github: https://github.com/ekansa/open-context-code/) |
Tomahawk could definitely use some UX and design love. We've gotten to 900k downloads on the basis of our unique approach to multi-source music resolution, but could definitely benefit from some real polish. http://gettomahawk.com Contact (me): @jherskowitz (jherskowitz@tomahawk-player.org) |
https://github.com/globocom/thumbor Thumbor is an imaging server that is used by many companies worldwide. We have a pretty comprehensive documentation, but no website whatsoever. It would help the project a lot to have a nice front page. |
I'm revamping the stacktrace.js site (stacktracejs.com) from the vanilla GitHub pages design with a bunch of extra features and am in need of a logo for the project. stacktrace.js is a framework-agnostic, micro-library for getting stack traces in all web browsers. It's licensed under the public domain. I'd really appreciate any help. Hit me up @eriwen or via GitHub. |
Lantern (getlantern/lantern) is a new peer-to-peer web proxy trying to save the world from internet censorship. Some more design resources could be a great help. Please feel free to get in touch at lantern-devel@googlegroups.com. Thanks so much for putting out the call! |
hello ! maybe poche https://github.com/inthepoche/poche a great and open source read it later. |
I'd love some design love on Lift's default project templates. https://github.com/lift/lift_26_sbt Lift is a Scala-based web framework that focuses on security, interactivity (awesome for single page apps), and developer productivity. Thanks! |
I'd love to have some design push for Shipyard (anything would be appreciated -- guidelines, mockups, etc.): https://github.com/shipyard/shipyard Django based Docker Management platform. Contact me (@ehazlett <- twitter also) for details |
We'd absolutely love to have the participation of (more) designers in the Asciidoctor and Arquillian projects. Not only could we use the input, we've been interested from the very beginning in promoting open design through these communities and making it an integral part of the project. At the moment, we're attempting to establish a visual identity for the Asciidoctor project. Several sketches have been proposed already, so input right now would prove vital to the effort. See asciidoctor/asciidoctor#48. Asciidoctor is a documentation tool that converts AsciiDoc markup (similar to Markdown) to HTML and other formats. We want to appeal to the inner-hero of authors by making the generated HTML look sharp by applying styles that look appealing, professional and accessible. We currently build on the Foundation CSS framework to provide a reasonable starting point. But we know we could do much better. We could also offer a wider range of themes as alternatives. See http://themes.asciidoctor.org to see what we have today. The Arquillian project has a more mature design history. It has a first-generation logo, icon, font & color scheme. It has a few additional logos and icons for subprojects and the website. Most important, Arquillian has a strong storyline. There's a lot that could be done in the design space and it's a fun one. We look forward to working with you! If you need more information about Asciidoctor, feel free to post to the issue tracker or the mailing list. For more information about Arquillian, visit the forums. |
I would love some design attention for GTimeLog. Anything would be welcome:
