The TODO is describing something that would be nice to fix. In fact the
problem exists even in 1.1.1. It would be nice to fix it, but it does
not need to be done in the 3.0 timeframe.

24 hours has passed since 'approval: done' was set, but this PR has failing CI tests. Once the tests pass it will get moved to 'approval: ready to merge' automatically, alternatively please review and set the label manually.
