[roads] Render ref tags from road relations

Highway shields are only rendered when the ways themselves have a ref tag. Now, the different ways that form a road route are assembled into relations. For the sake of avoiding duplicate data the ref tags should be removed from the individual ways and applied to the relation only.

Any advancement on this ? AFAIK not repeating the tags of relation on each member is the correct way of mapping. It's a bit disapointing that mapnik does not support this.

This would be great to see. Is it a technical limitation of Mapnik or something else?

There's still no render for ref in route=road relation, was this abandoned ?
