I've been experimenting with uploading some open trees data from Southwark Council, but unfortunately the trees mean none of the road and area labels are showing. See attached for a before/after example.
It's great showing the trees here, but the name labels really need to go on top and always show.

Rendering order could work, but that would mean creating a style solely for trees. There's another solution possible in newer mapnik versions, but we're not yet targeting those versions.
