The label for the city of Buffalo, New York is completely missing from all of your maps, at all zoom levels.

That's not actually a web site bug - if anything it's a bug in the map style (https://github.com/gravitystorm/openstreetmap-carto/issues) or possibly just a a data issue.

It may be none of those though - automatic labelling is hard and it's not always possible to label everything.

In fact I suspect it's mostly a data issue - there is a relation (http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/175031) for the administrative boundary but I don't think there is a separate place=city object.

The boundary relation has place=city on it as well as the admin boundary tags but that may well be confusing the stylesheet into only treating it as an admin boundary.
