This browser extension is seen as the alternative to Stylish, for people who didn't want to be tracked by SimilarWeb. Unfortunately it still depends on userstyles.org which is owned by that company.

I think it should be a top priority to make this extension completely free from anything owned by them.

Stylus doesn't depend on userstyles.org.

There are no big userstyle repository alternatives at the moment to install styles from. Banning userstyles.org would equal banning most of our users.
You can always just create your own styles, so you are not forced to be connected to userstyles.org / SimilarWeb in any way. Our extension supports installing from userstyles.org for historical and practical reasons, but we don't endorse it.

Furthermore there is a big difference in having a single style install or search tracked rather than having your complete history sent away.

A user connected to us ( @DecentM ) is creating an alternative platform at the moment: https://openusercss.org/

Feel free to contribute and post your styles there.

Also, the new UserCSS format enables you to host your styles whereever you want.

Stylus doesn't depend on userstyles.org.

search the code for the string "userstyles.org".

Or install the plugin and click the thing to search styles.

It does.

Just because the code contains a string userstyles.org doesn't mean Stylus depends on it.
You don't have to search for styles to use Stylus. I don't search for styles for example.

Stylus can be used successfully without a single request to userstyles.org.
You can even hide the "find styles" element using a custom theme.
