There is no x96 wireless driver in the kernel.

The answer to the question about the wifi module of X96-Max+: X96-Max+ uses the RTL8822CS (SDIO) module. Officially released the first version of the driver (rtw88) in 2019. At that time, it only supported PCIE RTL88xxXE, but it also stated that it will support it in the future. RTL88xxXU of USB and RTL88xxXS of SDIO, but until 2021, no follow-up drivers have been seen.

So as of now, the wifi of X96-Max+ cannot be used to the linux kernel.

The answer to the question about the wifi module of X96-Max+: X96-Max+ uses the RTL8822CS (SDIO) module.

For X96-Max+ Q2, it uses QCA6174

https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/x96-max-plus-q2-wifi-doesnt-work/14608/6

But by default it still lacks firmware:

ath10k_sdio mmc0:0001:1: Failed to find firmware-N.bin (N between 2 and 6) from ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0: -2

After install armbian-firmware-full, it is working correctly. Although I still get an error in dmesg:

ath10k_sdio mmc0:0001:1: failed to fetch board data for bus=sdio,vendor=0271,device=050a,subsystem-vendor=0000,subsystem-device=0000 from ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/board-2.bin
