When importing configurations from other (virtual) hardware platforms you do need to be careful to avoid loosing access to the firewall after a reboot. Improving this situation would be helpful.

Describe the solution you like

Offer a checkbox enabled by default to keep existing console settings, as these should usually not change on the target device. When interfaces appear to be unmatched, point the user to the assignment page to fix the issue before rebooting.

Describe alternatives you considered

Converting the backup/restore module to mvc and "stage" the file before import, but this would be too time consuming at the moment.
