Not sure what happened to the spanish translation... I've seen a one year old pull request that seems to have been sitting there for quite a while now.
I have just forked the repo and I am happy to work on the spanish translation over the next few months. So far I have just done a rough translation of the index and foreword.
Is there anything I should be aware of before I dive into translating the first proper chapter?
I commented on the spanish translation way back when. Basically I am asking for a bit more progress :)
Sure, don't worry. Now it's summer, so I shouldn't have any problem with it. I already spoke with @lupomontero about it and we didn't find any problem. Although we planned to start the translation a little bit earlier, for sure we are going to do it. Oh, and, since I have plenty of time, I don't doubt it's going to be finished pretty fast.
I will continue with the translation this week... Have been very busy with other stuff but will make some time this week to continue with this. I have been working on the preface and chapter 1 and will be committing and pushing these in the next couple of days.
That's great news, thanks everybody! :)
Hi guys, I translated the preface: lupomontero@bd25a7b
So far we have rough translations of the index, foreword and preface. I will now start working on chapter 1 and I'm hoping to be done in the next couple of days.
@janl : When should we start sending pull requests to you? Should we translate at least chapter 1 before requesting to pull?
@Farresito : Can you get started with chapter 2 and send me a pull request on my fork when done? Any questions or suggestions let me know.
Really excited to finally get started with this translation ;-)
@lupomontero Great job!
Thanks again for pushing this forward! :D
@lupomontero Sure. I will try to translate as much as possible today and tomorrow, since this sunday I'm taking a plane.
@janl Ok. Chapter 1 translated and pull request sent ;-)
@Farresito Any news on Chapter 2? It would be nice to see some progress and also get some feedback on what has been translated so far.
@lupomontero Two days ago I came from vacation. Time to finish chapter 2. I will pull as soon as possible.
@lupomontero Chapter 2 being translated. Should I do anything from Chapter 1? My chapter 2 is going to take probably a week to be done completely.
Hey sorry I've been a bit unresponsive, last week I became a dad and the last few days have been a bit of a roller coaster. I will get back to the translation over the weekend.
@janl Have you had a chance to review the pull request? Im already working on the next chapter and would be nice to get some feedback ;-)
@Farresito Any news wrt chapter 2?
@dcialdella and @Farresito : Can you guys review what has been translated so far ("index", "foreword", "preface" and "chapter 1"). I would appreciate some feedback. Reading this will give you an idea of how Im approaching the translation and will help in setting a "style" and "tone" throughout the book. You can post feedback as issues on my fork here and we can continue the discussion there.
@janl Thanks for merging in the pull request. I will send the next pull request when the next chapter is ready.
@lupomontero I will review it as soon as possible. I started the Chapter 2 translation, but is longer than I thought (not really long, but quite tiring), so I translate small bits whenever I can. I could certainly make a pull request, but since not all the Chapter 2 is translated, I thought it would be better to do it in only one push.
