Installing Organic Maps from GitHub using Obtainium

Obtainium allows you to install and update Apps directly from their releases pages, and receive notifications when new releases are made available.

Install Obtainium from GitHub Releases page.

Click here to download APK

Open Obtainium and click "Add App":

Type organic maps in the search box:

Keep only GitHub source:

Choose organicmaps/organicmaps repository.

Press Add*:

Congratulation! Organic Maps app has been added to Obtainium app:

Click "Install":

Allow Obtainium to install new packages in the system settings:

Obtainium will check for updates and show the release notes:

Now Organic Maps will be automatically updated as soon as new official releases are published on GitHub by developers. No more unpredictable delays caused by unreliable third-parties and middlemen.

⚠️ The March 2024 update of Organic Maps on GitHub has changed the internal application identifier from app.organicmaps to app.organicmaps.web to allow installation of Web (GitHub) version alongside versions from stores. This change requires migration from the old version to the new app. Export all your bookmarks and tracks, and import them into a new version.
