Hi everyone,

I first got the rejection saying "Please complete your GitHub billing information with your full name exactly as it appears in your academic affiliation document. You do not have to add a payment method. You may need to log out and log back in to GitHub before reapplying. If you have only a single legal name, enter it in both the first and last name fields."

I fixed this but get an error when i reapply:

"There was an error creating the discount request. Errors: Discount request could not be created. Discount request errors: You have an outstanding discount request for @tedgan. We will get back to you soon."

i cleared cache, logged out, and do not have VPN on.

how do i reapply?

The error message suggests your original application wasn't rejected completely and is still pending in GitHub's system. Since it says "You have an outstanding discount request", GitHub is likely preventing duplicate applications. I would wait for a response on the existing request or contact GitHub Education Support directly and ask them to clear the pending request if it appears stuck. Reapplying usually won't work while an active request exists.

You can contact GitHub Education Support through the GitHub Support portal and explain that your previous application was rejected due to billing information, but after correcting it you're unable to reapply because the system reports an outstanding discount request. Including screenshots of the error may help them investigate faster.
