username is not required when using the GitHub Packages Maven repository. The username is only required if you are using a private repository. In your case, the repository is public, so the username is not required. The username is used to authenticate with the GitHub Packages repository. When you set the username to an empty string, Maven will use the anonymous credentials to authenticate with the repository. The anonymous credentials are sufficient for public repositories. |

If username is blank, as in the example above, the repository will still be imported normally.
