Bancontact payment with Stripe integration

I'm using the Swell default checkout in combination with Stripe. For my Belgium customers I've added Bancontact option which is not working anymore without SEPA direct debit. The problem with this is that it always shows that you only have to pay 2 cents. Is there a way I can fix this so that it's working without SEPA?

I think this is caused by being able to have recurring payments, which needs SEPA Direct Debit. In my opinion it should be possible to disable recurring payments in the Swell Payment configuration to make Bancontact one-time payments possible again.

@supergillis @ericingram It used to work with only Bancontact but something changed and I created this issue. I'm from the Netherlands and it does work with iDeal, which is weird because it should practically work the same.

@ericingram @steven-k1 @vstudenichnik-insoft Swell has set up Bancontact for future SEPA Direct Debit payments, see https://docs.stripe.com/payments/bancontact/set-up-payment we just want to use it as the default Single-use payment. Just like iDeal.

@supergillis @Lingertje At the moment Swell requires setting up Bancontact for future payments to support subscriptions. When this integration was first implemented, the only way to achieve that in Stripe was by using a €0.02 setup intent to collect the bank details, and then the actual order amount gets charged in the background using those authorized details.

It looks like Stripe has recently added support for saving bank details during a Bancontact payment itself (this wasn't available before). Our integration will need to be updated to use this new flow (Save bank details during a Bancontact payment) so that Bancontact can work more like iDEAL for single-use payments.

We've noted this as an improvement on our side, but we don't yet have a specific timeframe for when it will be addressed.

@Targox Yes, Bancontact via Stripe is currently supported. It works for both one-time payments and subscriptions. However, with the current implementation, customers may see a €0.02 charge. This is used to authorize the payment method, and once the authorization is complete, the correct order amount is charged.
