Original description

OrientDB release?
OrientDB Server v1.2.0

What steps will reproduce the problem?
orientdb> create class iTest extends V

Class created successfully. Total classes in database now: 17

orientdb> desc iTest

Class................: iTest
Super class..........: OGraphVertex
Default cluster......: itest (id=18)
Supported cluster ids: [18]

orientdb> create class iTest-new extend V

Class created successfully. Total classes in database now: 18

orientdb> desc iTest-new

Class................: iTest-new
Default cluster......: itest-new (id=19)
Supported cluster ids: [19]

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Why second command "create class iTest-new extend V" works without any exception about syntax?

I expect syntax error message for "extend" construction.

In this case DB created pure object but I expect Super class OGraphVertex.

the keyword is "extends"
