Original labels: Type-Defect, Priority-Medium, Release

Original description

OrientDB release? (If you're using a SNAPSHOT please attach also the build
number found in "build.number" file):

1.0.1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Do not have ORIENTDB_HOME variable set
2. Call OGraphDatabase.open(iUserName, iUserPassword) from external program

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Error message says: [WARN] GraphConfigurationContainer - com.orientechnologies.orient.core.exception.OStorageException: Cannot open local storage 'path/to/db' with mode=rw

Can we have it check the value of ORIENTDB_HOME and instead return an error message stating that ORIENTDB_HOME is not set?
