Describe the bug
Ethernet is working but is listed in Network settings as "cable unplugged" and some software I use is unable to work because it requires an IP address and is not able to find it (specifically dante virtual soundcard). Using Safari/Mail/other apps I am able to access the internet.

It detects and gives an IP address in Network settings

I highly doubt that is the case. If the ethernet is "unplugged" you're probably connected to the internet through another interface like Wifi or your USBC dongle. Check your network settings for the device with a green dot on the left.
With regards to the actual ethernet, can you try both ethernet ports?
