Describe the bug
Ethernet is working but is listed in Network settings as "cable unplugged" and some software I use is unable to work because it requires an IP address and is not able to find it (specifically dante virtual soundcard). Using Safari/Mail/other apps I am able to access the internet.

Expected behavior
It detects and gives an IP address in Network settings

Configuration

  • HaC Mini version [e.g: 2.0]: 2.17
  • OSX version [e.g: 10.14.6]: 10.15.7
  • NUC model [e.g: NUC8i7HNK]: NUC8i7HVK
  • Boot SSD model and protocol [e.g: Samsung EVO 860 1TB, SATA]: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB m.2
  • Second SSD model and protocol (if installed) [e.g: HP EX920 1TB, NVMe]:
  • First DIMM model [e.g: Patriot DDR4-2666 16GB]: Crucial RAM 16GB DDR4 2666 MHz
  • Second DIMM model (if installed):
  • Display port(s) used [e.g: USB-C, mini DP]: rear HDMI
  • Display resolution(s) [e.g: 4K, 5K]: 1440p
  • Any TB3 devices: no
  • Any USB devices: Keyboard/mouse, & currently using an Anker USBC to ethernet dongle to fix my issue
  • Any Wi-Fi/Bluetooth devices [e.g:DW1820A, BCM94360CS2, Intel 8265]: no

I highly doubt that is the case. If the ethernet is "unplugged" you're probably connected to the internet through another interface like Wifi or your USBC dongle. Check your network settings for the device with a green dot on the left.

With regards to the actual ethernet, can you try both ethernet ports?

I am uploading a video to show the issue. Wifi is off, both ethernet ports "work" but do not show an IP address in Network settings.

in my case, sometimes the ethernet port is down, and I have to restart the computer to get it back. pretty weird
