A user kindly reported the following error here:
http://blog.7-a.org/2014/10/owtf-10-lionheart-released.html?showComment=1417144808088#c3910439630763982534

Possibly the install script was not run (and in that case this would be an enhancement not a bug), but when that is the case, we should exit more gracefully indicating to the user what to do instead of ending with a stack trace like that.

i got this error when i try to run ./owtf.py

Traceback (most recent call last):

@adrian_is: Could you please provide more background information here?

  • Did you run the install script?
  • What Operating system did you try this on?

@7a I think it's an OS independent issue. "backports.ssl_match_hostname" is a dependency of tornado. I just tested in a virtual environment that doesn't have tornado installed, I got this error and once I installed tornado, the error is gone.
