The ideal scenario would be a QML component that we can easily drop in to the shell. We may have to implement a C++ plugin to do this, though.

Some initial discussion can be found in pull request #14.

Just started working on this and i have a list of players that auto updates and some basic methods implemented. Now i need to look into creating a QML type/library.
For the next month i will be busy with exams and projects from univ, so if anyone wants to take a stab at it i wont mind. This is what i have. https://gist.github.com/ricardomv/f2fe7c560e509d8f7bb6

@boghison I've renamed our qml-notify repo to qml-desktop so we can have various QML types there as a C++ plugin. Let's put the code there if that sounds good to you.

@ricardomv btw, @ibeliever brought up the notification server. That is to say that if you really are accustomed to QDbus, then it would be awesome if you helped on that as well :)

@ricardomv another suggestion: put the (music indicator) code into a repo, not a gist, it'll be easier, then you'll make a pull request into our repo :)

Assigning to myself to implement the indicator/widget for music now that the awesome @boghison has built us a DBus API in our QML Desktop library.
