[photon] FactoryReset does not behave as documented #557

Factory Reset on the photon behaves differently than how it is documented for the Core.

  • decide what the correct behavior should be, in light of the fact that the factory reset image is overwritten when system modules are updated (so factory reset doen't function as expected thereafter.)
  • consider allowing the user to use free space in the system-part2 module to store a factory reset image?
  • remove factory reset altogether, since it's limited usefulness (Clear wifi credentials, which can be done in setup mode.)

On the P1 we could allow the user to specify where they want the factory reset image to exist in external flash.

Other ideas?

Reworked the factory reset section of the docs for the Photon and directed the user to alternatives.

Going to add detection to the user-initiated factory reset - if the factory reset image isn't valid, then don't display the factory reset modes in the bootloader.
