Expected behaviour

New Version installed

Actual behaviour

No new Version
The update process need adminrights

Steps to reproduce

Run the update from menu under Windows 10

But! During writing this issue, I found the solution:
Before starting the update, one have to start qownnotes as administrator
Should be told the users in messagewindow

Output from the debug section in the settings dialog

Relevant log output (you have to enable enable the log widget)

here is the output from the commandwindow:

Thank you for your suggestion.

Actually you need to put QOwnNotes to a place where you have write access, as told in http://www.qownnotes.org/installation#Windows.

17.10.6

  • added an information text to the Windows update dialog to remind the user that
QOwnNotes needs to run from a location where the user has write access to for
    the automatic update to work

There now is a new release, you should be able to get the text after the next update. ;)
