|App=acidrip;Multimedia;http://images.pbidir.com/progicons/acidrip.png;ports@FreeBSD.org;UNKNOWN;GPL;Graphical;cd,dvd,ripper,encoder;AcidRip is a Gtk2::Perl application for ripping and encoding DVD's. It neatly wraps MPlayer and MEncoder, seeing as MPlayer is by far the best bit of video playing kit around for Linux (and FreeBSD). As well as creating a simple Graphical Interface for those scared of getting down and dirty with MEncoders command line interface, It also automates the process in a number of ways: o Parses DVD into contents tree o Finds longest title o Calculate video bitrate for given filesize o Finds black bands and crops them o Gives suggestions for improved performance;;1384282796;;GTK2::Perl wrapper for MPlayer and MEncoder for ripping DVDs;|

You are in a two-dimensional maze in which you are attacked by robots that shoot at you and that you must shoot down. You must pick up a gun somewhere in the maze in order to have a few bullets to shoot. Avoid the spiders and the bats, which can paralyze you long enough for a robot to come and shoot you. The bunker in the center is your only protection. WWW: http://sarrazip.com/dev/afternoonstalker.html;;1384283661;martymac@FreeBSD.org;A clone of the 1981 Night Stalker video game;|

Amanda is a backup system designed to archive many computers on a network to a single large-capacity tape drive. Here are some features of Amanda: approvepbi10.php approvepbi9.php config-inc.php editmeta10.php editmeta9.php functions.php images index.php login.php logincheck.php meta10.php meta9.php pbi-git pbiupdates.php uploadapprove10.php uploadapprove9.php written in C, freely distributable. approvepbi10.php approvepbi9.php config-inc.php editmeta10.php editmeta9.php functions.php images index.php login.php logincheck.php meta10.php meta9.php pbi-git pbiupdates.php uploadapprove10.php uploadapprove9.php built on top of standard backup software: Unix dump/restore, and later GNU Tar and others. approvepbi10.php approvepbi9.php config-inc.php editmeta10.php editmeta9.php functions.php images index.php login.php logincheck.php meta10.php meta9.php pbi-git pbiupdates.php uploadapprove10.php uploadapprove9.php will back up multiple machines in parallel to a holding disk, blasting finished dumps one by one to tape as fast as we can write files to tape. For example, a ~2 Gb 8mm tape on a ~240K/s interface to a host with a large holding disk can be filled by Amanda in under 4 hours. approvepbi10.php approvepbi9.php config-inc.php editmeta10.php editmeta9.php functions.php images index.php login.php logincheck.php meta10.php meta9.php pbi-git pbiupdates.php uploadapprove10.php uploadapprove9.php does simple tape management: will not overwrite the wrong tape. |App=cdparanoia;Audio;http://images.pbidir.com/progicons/cdparanoia.png;danfe@FreeBSD.org;http://www.xiph.org/paranoia/;GPL;Text;audio,ripper;Cdparanoia is a Compact Disc Digital Audio (CDDA) Digital Audio Extraction (DAE) tool, commonly known on the net as a 'ripper'. The application is built on top of the Paranoia library, which is doing the real work (the Paranoia source is included in the cdparanoia source distribution). Cdparanoia reads audio from the CDROM directly as data, with no analog step between, and writes the data to a file or pipe in WAV, AIFC, or raw 16 bit linear PCM. Cdparanoia is a bit different than most other CDDA extraction tools. It contains few-to-no 'extra' features, concentrating only on the ripping process and knowing as much as possible about the hardware performing it. Cdparanoia will read correct, rock-solid audio data from inexpensive drives prone to misalignment, frame jitter, and loss of streaming during atomic reads. Cdparanoia will also read and repair data from CDs that have been damaged in some way. Cdparanoia is easy to use and administrate. It has no compile time configuration, happily autodetecting the CDROM, its type, its interface and other aspects of the ripping process at runtime. A single binary can serve the diverse hardware of the do-it-yourself computer laboratory from Hell.
