This commit protects login credentials with HTTPS (e.g., preventing username and password from being sent in plain text).

If there's anything else I need to do in order to make this a viable change for you to pull into the gem, just let me know.


Protect authentication credentials with HTTPS
Update client connection code to use HTTPS whenever authentication
credentials are present in the request (e.g., username, api_secret, etc.).

For existing tests that passed the username and password over HTTP, update
those tests to use HTTPS instead.
