This feature has been deprecated after |Percona Server| :rn:`5.5.28-29.2` and it will not be available in |Percona Server| 5.6, because the innodb_checksum_algorithm feature in |MySQL| 5.6 makes it redundant.
This feature has been deprecated after |Percona Server| :rn:`5.5.28-29.2` and it will not be available in |Percona Server| 5.6, because the innodb_checksum_algorithm feature in |MySQL| 5.6 makes it redundant. If this feature was enabled, turning it off before the upgrade requires table(s) to be dump and imported, since it will fail to start on data files created when :variable:`innodb_fast_checksum` was enabled. As an alternative you can use :program:`innochecksum` from |MySQL| 5.7 (or from |MySQL| 5.6 if the files are smaller than 2GB) as described in this `blogpost <http://dbadojo.com/2015/07/16/innodb_fast_checksum_mysql56_upgrade/>`_.
